Today October 16,2011 bloggers around the world are celebrating Blog Action Day, where by all bloggers we get a chance of talking about one topic . This year’s topic is FOOD.
We at NJE YA BONGO.COM we want to use this opportunity to remind our viewers the trend in the world that food prices are going high. The rising in prices of food commodities is contributed by many reasons including global environmental problems such as global warming that bring un reliable climatic seasons which make it impossible for farmers to plan well, and even get enough from their investments.
Other reasons for food shortage are insecurity and wars that take lives of many producers and make it impossible to do farming in those areas where there are wars and insecurity.
Technological advancement across countries of the world is also to be blamed where some food crops have been used for other purposes other than food making the amount of such food crops available for supply as food small.
NJE YA BONGO.COM wants to ask all our viewers to play important role in insuring food security exist. You can play your role as good ambassador in preserving environment so that we have realible climatic seasons, you can also play your role by making sure you do not engage yourself in those actions that make create insecurity in your community or bring war, and those who are currently in war should find a way to stop wars.
Above all, we want to encourage all our viewers to take direct part in increasing food supply by taking part in farming. Not necessary to have a big farm, but you can start having a simple garden at your home where you keep few food crops such as vegetables. We know there are mobile gardens so that you enjoy gardening even if you are a person who does not have a permanent residence or own a house.
Food security is responsibility for all of us.
